Proxy Marketplaces
A proxy company like ZenMarket or Buyee allows customers outside of Japan to purchase goods from Japanese websites and have them shipped to their own country. Here's how it works:
- Customers outside of Japan visit the proxy company's website and create an account.
- They browse the available items on the proxy company's website, or use the search function to find specific items they're interested in.
- Once they've found an item they want to purchase, they add it to their cart and check out using the proxy company's website.
- The proxy company handles the purchase of the items on the Japanese website, using their own Japanese shipping address.
- The proxy company then consolidates the customer's items and holds them at their warehouse in Japan until the customer is ready to have them shipped to their own country.
- When the customer is ready to have their items shipped, they provide the proxy company with their own shipping address and pay for the international shipping.
- The proxy company then arranges for the items to be shipped to the customer's address, providing tracking information once the items are on their way.
This process allows customers outside of Japan to easily purchase goods from Japanese websites, and the proxy company's consolidation and storage services allow customers to save money on shipping by having multiple purchases shipped together.
